Dr. Arsiwala was nominated for his significant contributions toward promoting the best interests of abused and neglected children across the world and at home in the greater-Detroit area. His commitment and dedication to the young women at Vista Maria spans a decade. Most recently through his support and service to Vista Maria’s Shepherd Hall Transitional Living Program, the young women are finding guidance, resources and skills necessary to place them on a path towards independence.

“It is an honor to be involved with Vista Maria and the work they are doing to rebuild lives,” says Arsiwala. “The young women in the Shepherd Hall Transitional Program are given an opportunity to start a career and an educational path, paving the way for a bright future.”

The Shepherd Hall Transitional Living Program opened its doors in December 2012. Girls eligible for the program are between 16 to 24 years of age and who are aging out of the foster care system or homeless. There are 22 single occupancy dorm-style apartments, common spaces such as a kitchen and community area. Residents are required to have an educational and employment plan in place 30 to 60 days after moving in, and pay rent. For more information, visit www.VistaMaria.org.
